Our Story
Alison · Founder
What started as a small homemade treat quickly became something people would not stop asking for.
I spent years in healthcare, working exhausting, high-pressure days. When I came up for air, I went back to what grounds me. Yoga, my dogs, and making healthy sweets. I started stuffing dates as a reward at the end of a long shift, then began bringing them to gatherings with friends. Before long nobody would let me arrive empty-handed, and this stopped being a hobby.
Maison Le Date is my way of choosing joy. It is still one woman, two hands, and a kitchen in Sherman Oaks.
How a date becomes a Maison Le Date
Every Medjool is hand-picked. If it does not meet the standard, it does not go in a box. The same goes for everything that touches it: real chocolate, small-batch nut butters, nuts and fruit I would happily eat on their own.
Each date is pitted, stuffed, dipped and finished by hand, one at a time. No machines. Two hundred a day is the ceiling, and I would rather hit it than change how any of this is made.
Every bite is a different journey
Each flavor was made and remade until it earned its name. Cacao Noir and Bacio di Lime have almost nothing in common except the care that went into them, and that is the point.
All gluten and dairy free. Vegan except the honey and bee pollen flavors, marked on the menu.
Where to find me
Boxes are hand-delivered across Los Angeles or ready for pickup in Sherman Oaks. You will also find me at pop-ups and markets around the city, handing boxes across a table, which is still my favorite way to do this.
Wholesale, cafes, weddings and corporate gifting: I would love to hear from you.
Made with love,
Alison
